Michael Pietig is an internationally experienced marketing and communications expert with proven leadership skills in global organisations. Until 2025, he was Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at PwC Switzerland, where he was responsible for the company's integrated marketing and communications organisation and coordinated the strategic direction of PwC Europe's marketing and branding activities. Under his leadership, brand-shaping initiatives, digital transformation programmes and a European brand refresh were successfully implemented.
Previously, he shaped the marketing strategy of leading Swiss financial institutions – as Head of Corporate Marketing at EFG International and as CMO of Globalance Bank – where he drove digital marketing, brand development and international campaigns. Previous positions as global brand manager at Hilti and ABB, as well as his role as consulting director for global brand consultancy Interbrand, strengthen his profile as a proven branding and marketing expert. His work in international sales marketing at Deutsche Telekom laid the foundation for his international career.
He is convinced that the combination of brand strategy, creative excellence and technological innovation is one of the key success factors for credibly positioning companies and effectively shaping transformation. For him, the Design Strategy Board is a platform for further developing new theories and insights in critical dialogue and sharpening the role of brand, design and communication in a rapidly changing world.
