With the breakdown of the state control a private building boom of immense dimensions has begun in South East Europe which persists until today and in which architects and planners do not play a central role. The exhibition shows the backgrounds and the effects which such an unregulated informal urbanism has for the whole region and how it will affect Central Europe. After its expansion the exhibition can now be seen in Vienna. Further planned stages are Bukarest, Novi Sad and Prishtina. |

ZDF news studio fully expanded

The ZDF is now also on air with the mittagsmagazin. Since November 2009 all the news formats of the ZDF are broadcasted from the new studio in Mainz. The design management mandate of Tatin for the ZDF is thereby successfully completed. With the virtual studio, news can be presented more lively and more flexible than before. „We learned a lot and are full of ideas how to develop television in the direction of convergence of media“ says Tatin partner Ruedi Alexander Müller-Beyeler who moderated the design process at the ZDF. |
Children's news logo! on the air

Tatin Scoping Complexity has also helped to co-redesign the ZDF children's news. In the course of the design moderation for the ZDF-heute-news Ruedi Alexander Müller-Beyeler, partner of Tatin in Zurich, has also moderated the redesign of the children's broadcast. The design was developed together with the Munich agency velvet media design and is based on the conceptional approach of ZDF heute. Although logo! is broadcasted from the same studio as the news for the adults and consciously uses the same mechanism to explain, the children's news have a totally different, child-friendly impression. Explanation contributions will be animated with comic figures - so called emoticons - in the future, whereby a very independent world can be created. logo! will be broadcasted through the children's channel kika. |

The urban construction of the post-war modern characterizes the appearnace of many German cities up to now. The severe pressure on buildings of that time for change and demolition raises the question about its impact on the cultural identity of the urban community. TATIN has developed an exhibition architecture which allows a differentiated discussion of the theme based on six city portraits. With slim wall elements and horizontal beams this exhibition architecture shows parallels to the urban construction of the post-war era and combines the heterogeneous and numerous materials to an easy understandable, differentiated story. |

Window design of the hairdesser's "Hauptsache St. Johann"

The hairdresser „Hauptsache“ opens a new branch. The room of the new location, flooded with light through the large window fronts, should get a pleasant atmosphere. Tatin designed the windows in an individual, simple and striking manner at the same time. A clear and well recognizable labeling emerges from the logo „Haupsache St. Johann“, which is drawn over the whole front. Furthermore a sophisticated and funny screen was created with „hairy“ limericks overlaying the logo. |

ZURICH, 17th of July 2009 – Tatin played a major role in the design development of the ZDF news broadcasts „ ZDF heute“ and „ZDF heute journal“. Ruedi Alexander Müller-Beyeler, Partner of Tatin Scoping Complexity, led on behalf of the ZDF an interdisciplinary team of various agencies, which newly developed the design of the newscasts within a three year process. With the new appearance and the new studio construction the ZDF reacts to the changed media behavior of the viewers, prepares for the digital future of television, and strengthens its explanation competence with the possibilities of virtual technologies. |

»Resample Ornament« in the museum of architecture in Stockholm

A century after the ornament was banned as decadent from the modern architecture it has returned to the contemporary architectural production through technical innovation in construction and production process. This has created a new language of forms that takes into account the iconography of the business world with its logos and brand worlds and our changed attitude towards nature. TATIN has set the scene for this new architecture vocabulary in an amazing way which can be seen in Stockholm a year after its premiere in Basel. |
